Can Americans get a Canadian work visa in order to participate in the current job boom in Canada?

I am a college graduate with a humanities degree (what a waste). Anyway, I've heard that there are amazing opportunities in Canada right now in connection to the oil and natural gas industries for both skilled and non-skilled workers. Does anyone know whether it is possible for an American without trade skills to get their foot in the door with one of these Canadian companies and to also get a working visa? Also, any extra information about the current Canadian job boom situation would be welcomed. I'm particularly interested in information regarding entry level opportunities.

3. Yeah, but it's not likely to be something in your background. There are a lot of marketing/IT jobs and things such as that. Furthermore, the only way you'll get a look is if they can't get a Canadian to fill the job. Sorry, but metoo is wrong...dead wrong. I know a student who couldn't find a job here after graduating, though she wanted to stay, she had to go back to Canada b/c her student visa expired and she needed a work visa. Anyway, another way to get over there is to apply at companies that have headquarters in the USA and Canada, and get a job transfer if you can get hired on. But the USA sucks right now for jobs, and the government isn't helping to keep anybody employed, while the greedy...oh, forget it. Look at the sites, they should help you.
4. I would try to get a list of some of the companies that might have opportunities and contact their HR Dept directly. It's true, there are more jobs than people at the moment.
